Job Description Home Health Aide (HHA) will be responsible for providing direct care to clients in their homes, assisting with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, and meal preparation, as well as light housekeeping, medication reminders, and companionship. HHAs also monitor vital signs and report changes in a client\u2019s health to supervisors, playing a key role in helping clients with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or age-related challenges to maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. Responsibilities Personal Care: Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Household Support: Performing light housekeeping duties like laundry, cleaning, and washing dishes to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Meal Assistance: Planning, preparing, and assisting with meals, as well as monitoring nutrition. Health Monitoring: Checking and recording vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration) and monitoring for changes in physical and mental condition. Medication Reminders: Assisting clients with taking their prescribed medications at the right times. Companionship: Providing emotional support and social interaction to combat loneliness and isolation. Transportation: Arranging and providing transportation for medical appointments, errands, and other outings. Communication & Reporting: Keeping detailed records of client care and promptly reporting any changes or unusual conditions to nurses or supervisors. Safety & Independence: Teaching clients how to use assistive devices (like a walker) and implementing safety precautions to help them remain independent. Required Skills & Qualities Compassion and Empathy: A caring and understanding nature is essential for building trust and providing quality care. The ability to remain calm and composed in various situations is crucial. Observational Skills: Keen attention to detail is needed to notice subtle changes in a client\u2019s condition. Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Reliability and Independence: The ability to work independently and manage tasks responsibly in a client\u2019s home. Requirements Be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Have at least 12 months experience as a home health care aide. Have demonstrated sympathetic attitude toward care of others who are vulnerable. Possess the ability to read, write and carry out directions. Possess the maturity to deal effectively with the demands of the job. Have demonstrated the ability to work with little supervision and make appropriate judgments. Have demonstrated dependability, tact and ability to follow orders. Proof of vaccinations. Access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation in order to travel to patient/client location. A valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance when using a personal vehicle for company business. Disclose any conviction and criminal history records pertaining to any crime related to the provision of health services.
