About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Recovery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM, on call as needed Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: 0 - 6 months of related experience License: Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Completion of basic professional curriculum of a school of nursing approved and verified by a state board of nursing. Working knowledge of disease state management processes and clinical pathways. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently. Detail-oriented, with the ability to examine clinical and numerical data. Description: The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies and procedures. The nurse monitors and evaluates patient functional status. Utilizes the nursing process in caring for assigned patients. Completes assessment and individualizes plan of care within established guidelines. Carries out nursing care with consideration for cultural and psychosocial factors. Organizes, prioritizes, and performs nursing skills appropriate for the patient population. Anticipates patient and unit needs. Demonstrates sound knowledge base in bio-psychosocial factors. Delegates and communicates effectively and appropriately. Demonstrates professional judgment in response to changing patient and unit situations. Documents steps of the nursing process and care on the appropriate record. Records data concisely, consistently, accurately, and legibly. Utilizes correct medical terminology and abbreviations. Addresses problems and progress toward outcomes according to policy and procedures. Facilitates patient teaching for discharge. Makes timely and appropriate referrals. Utilizes resources in planning and presenting patient education, considering age and cultural factors. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through continuous improvement and educational activities. Attends mandatory in-services and meets education standards. Accurately completes variance reports. Exercises independent judgment in planning and making minor decisions in a complex professional field. Works directly with patients and customers. Works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and staff.
