Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting student success in a vibrant educational setting. This full-time role offers the chance to make a significant impact as a Sign Language Interpreter, working directly with a middle school student who relies on interpreting services to participate fully in classroom and school activities. Located near Alma, AR, the assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through late May, following the academic calendar.
Key Qualifications:
- State licensure required as an ASL Interpreter; Spanish interpreting abilities highly preferred (MSL skills considered a strong asset)
- Experience providing 1:1 or classroom interpreting in K-12 settings
- Proficient in American Sign Language, with additional preference for candidates fluent in Spanish
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work alongside educators, staff, and families
- Skilled in adapting communication styles and supporting diverse learning needs
Your Role Will Include:
- Providing real-time sign language interpretation for a designated middle school student, ensuring comprehension and engagement across all academic content and school-related interactions
- Interpreting in classroom settings, small groups, assemblies, and other school activities as needed
- Acting as a bridge between educators, staff, and the student to facilitate accessible communication
- Maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional ethical standards at all times
- Attending school day hours consistently, with a full-time weekly schedule of 37.5 hours
