Mobile App Development For Optum Customers

Where is the work to be performed? Eden Prairie, MN or Basking Ridge, NJ or 100% Remote

Can you please provide a summary of the project/initiative which describes whats being done? Mobile App for Optum Customers. This project involves development of the Mobile and Portal Application. Java API needs to be created for Mobile and Portal application.

Please describe the team the candidate will be working with - how many members and what is the break-down of the teams skill sets (ex: 1 PM, 4 Developers, etc.)? Teams are generally 6 developers split between web or mobile and service development. This position will focus on the API development.

What does the ideal candidate background look like (ex: healthcare specific background, etc.)? Ideal candidate should be well-versed in Java development, understand debugging, and have experience connecting to various backend services and building RESTful services.

What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position? (Please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily basis) Attend regular scrum meetings. Design and develop software. Unit test software. Participate in architecture/design reviews. Collaborate with web and mobile developers in order to understand APIs etc. Deliver on time and with quality. Create and implement patterns. Mentor early career engineers.

What skills/attributes are required (Please be detailed as to number of experience)? Java, API calls (SOAP and RESTful), Spring

What skills/attributes are preferred (will set a candidate apart)? HTML, CSS, Java script, Public Cloud (AWS or Azure), Build pipeline

What are the work hours? (ex. 9am-5pm, day/night shifts, rotating shifts, etc) 9am - 5 pm CT or ET with some off hours for deployments

Are you open to candidates that would need to be 100% remote for the duration of the engagement? For the contract duration, yes. If they want to convert to FTE, they would need to have access to one of our locations. I listed MN and NJ as the 2 possible locations, but I would be willing to entertain other states.
