• Demonstrate a strong record of collaborative leadership and commitment to excellence in clinical care, research, innovation, and academic service
• Be comfortable with the challenges and opportunities of building programs within an urban and diverse academic environment
Qualifications
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required
• Eligible to be licensed to practice Medicine in the state of Illinois required
• Completion of an accredited Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship program
• Board Certified in Pediatric Pulmonology
• Hold credentials meriting an Associate Professor or Professor faculty appointment
• Demonstrate ongoing research achievement, community engagement, and educational excellence The Rush University Children's Hospital (RUCH) is part of the Rush University Medical Center (RUMC). It is an academic medical center that has 110 pediatric beds. RUMC is a 671-bed hospital serving adults and children in downtown Chicago, Illinois. It includes the 58- adult bed Johnston R. Bowman Health Center, Rush University and Rush Health. Rush University is home to one of the first medical colleges in the Midwest and one of the nation’s top-ranked nursing colleges, as well as graduate programs in allied health, health systems management and biomedical research. The Medical Center also offers more than 70 highly selective residency and fellowship programs in medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. It has excellent residents. The Categorical Pediatrics and Medicine/Pediatrics residency programs have had a 99% pass rate on the General Pediatrics Certifying Examination offered by the American Board of Pediatrics in the past 4 years. The Department of Pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution, and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Division Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology.
This is a unique opportunity to build a pediatric pulmonology program at a leading academic medical center. We are seeking an entrepreneurial leader who is excited to establish and grow a comprehensive clinical and academic program in an established academic medical center. The Division Chief will build upon existing strengths and long history of high quality clinical care with the existing mature and steadfast Pediatric Pulmonary team that includes a Nurse Practitioner, 3 respiratory therapists, 2 nurses, CF social worker, and CF dietician. We are seeking a Division Chief who will develop a vision for expanding clinical services, educational programs, and research initiatives, while developing strategic interdisciplinary teams and fostering faculty development.
