Dermatology Preceptor APP

Overview Vanguard Skin Specialists is a dermatology and plastic surgery practice serving southern Colorado. This position is for an experienced APP (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) transitioning into dermatology through a structured training program with board-certified dermatologists. Location & Schedule Offices in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, with satellite clinics (La Junta, Hugo) and potential additional sites. This is a full-time role. Responsibilities Participate in a formal dermatology training program under the supervision of board-certified dermatologists for the initial 3,000 hours in the practice area. Collaborate with supervising physicians during the training period, with a goal of autonomous practice in dermatology. Remain actively involved in patient care and the delivery of high-quality dermatologic services as training progresses. Lead and participate in team activities as appropriate, including involvement in hiring, training, mentoring, and managing dedicated MAs and support staff. Contribute to program goals and standards of care consistent with Vanguard’s mission and quality expectations. Qualifications Greater than 4 years of work experience as a PA or NP, preferably in primary care. Excited about serving patients in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and surrounding underserved communities. Track record of strong performance and willingness to undertake a training approach that builds foundational clinical skills. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $120,000.00 – $125,000.00 base plus commission per year. Compensation increases by phase, depending on dermatology medical decision-making and clinical volume.
