We are looking for a Marketing Specialist to support our Corporate Marketing and Sales teams. This role may work out of our Birmingham, AL location or any of our locations.

The job:

As our Marketing Specialist , you will plan and coordinate events and programs that support SJE’s strategic marketing plan. Your primary responsibilities will include organizing trade shows, training sessions, and corporate events; administering co-op marketing and corporate apparel programs; managing events and promotional assets; and supporting the Marketing and Sales teams.

In this role, you will:

• Plan regional, national, and international trade shows, on-site and regional training sessions, and corporate events
• Lead planning meetings and coordinate exhibit space, booth design, signage, staffing, collateral, apparel, promotional items, speaking engagements, vendors, shipments, invoices, schedules, and timelines
• Manage the relationship with SJE’s trade show vendor and coordinate show details and shipments
• Evaluate SJE’s trade show presence and recommend improvements to booth layouts and product displays
• Maintain accurate company listings online and printed show guides
• Manage vendor-held and in-house inventories of products, displays, and other event assets
• Develop and maintain a monthly events calendar and communicate upcoming activities for online promotion
• Develop, implement, and administer co-op marketing plans through the vendor portal
• Coordinate product offerings for the co-op marketing program
• Manage vendor relationships for online printing, promotional products, and apparel
• Monitor and manage vendor-portal account balances
• Communicate co-op program information to representatives and other participants
• Manage SJE’s corporate apparel program, including product selection, vendor relationships, account balances, and employee communications
• Assist Marketing team members in completing projects on time and within budget
• Coordinate company and industry-association memberships and maintain the membership database
• Coordinate shipments for new product launches, including product samples
• Complete graphic design projects and other special assignments as directed

The skills, education, and experience you need:

To succeed in this role, you must have:

• Experience coordinating trade shows, training sessions, corporate events, or similar programs
• Strong project-management and organizational skills
• Experience coordinating event logistics, schedules, vendors, shipments, invoices, and promotional materials
• The ability to manage several projects, deadlines, and event details simultaneously
• Experience working with vendor portals, account balances, inventory, or program budgets
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
• The ability to build productive relationships with vendors, employees, sales representatives, and cross-functional teams
• The ability to identify opportunities to improve event displays and attendee experiences
• Experience supporting promotional-products, apparel, co-op marketing, or similar programs
• The ability to complete basic graphic design projects as assigned

A bachelor’s degree in marketing, event planning or related field and 1-2 years of experience is required.
