Support Quality Management System certification through development, implementation and maintenance of supplier quality processes and procedures. Responsibilities include involvement with international supplier quality activities and/or contract manufacturing.Job Responsibilities• Develop, implement, monitor and maintain quality processes and procedures• Maintain and develop consistencies in quality activities and systems including:Train and develop quality team membersMaintain and enhance supplier rating systems, supplier focus groups, supplier manuals which also includes performing supplier quality surveys including key product auditsDevelop and implement quality metrics in support of continuous improvementEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with Purchasing, Materials, Engineering and Operations to consistently improve supplier quality corporate-wideDevelop and maintain supplier warranty recovery systemManage the Quality Engineering APQP activities which include the development and maintenance of FMEA, control plans, gauging and measurement systems, statistical process control, inspection procedures, capability studies and sampling frequenciesResponsible for decision-making related to product quality and providing technical guidance on supplier issues; ensure sound problem-solving methods are followed for containment and corrective and preventive actionManage projects that support corporate strategic goals including continuous improvementPerform other duties and responsibilities as requested or requiredQualificationsJob Skills Requirements:Comprehensive knowledge of quality practices and procedures including Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO requirements along with track record of achieving and maintaining sameProficient in quality tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma, 8-D Problem-solving, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, etc.Familiarity with industrial internal combustion engines and/or natural gas compressors preferredExcellent interpersonal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with diverse groups of peopleComprehensive problem-solving skills to anticipate and resolve complex technical process and procedural issues in a multi-location manufacturing environment; strong problem analysis and root cause problem solving skillsComprehensive technical knowledge and background of quality and manufacturing processes including Six Sigma, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD & T), layout and gaging; machining methods and assembly processes; statistical process control (SPC) and statistical techniques; knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools including control plans and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA); analytical and problem solving skills with project management skills a plusSyteline experience preferredAbility to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirementsAbility to keep accurate recordsProficiency with surface plate and height gage inspection, optical comparator, micrometers, bore gages, depth micrometers, calipers and hardness testers, just to name a few, is desired. The candidate shall be familiar with CMM operation and knowledge of Brown & Sharpe CMM's and PC DMIS software would be a definite plus. Working knowledge of ISO Quality Systems and Tool Calibration would be beneficial as well.Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field; or equivalent work experienceRelated professional certification(s) preferredExperience Requirements:Minimum of 7 years supervisory experience in Quality Control, Engineering or equivalent
