Job Summary As a Sales Consultant at La‑Z‑Boy Furniture Galleries in Costa Mesa, CA, you will guide high‑end clients through a premium sales experience, create inspired spaces, and earn commissions with no ceiling. The position offers an hourly base wage plus unlimited commissions on all sales. Training Pay is $21 per hour for 2–6 weeks without commission. After training, base pay is $18 per hour with UNCAPPED commission on written sales (3% on Design sales, 2% on other sales). Key Responsibilities Drives Sales Contribute to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories, and services. Promote the Design program and assist the Designer in achieving sales goals. Consistently execute the La‑Z‑Boy selling process and strive for a favorable customer experience. Develop and utilize sales skills—including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, customized portfolio presentations, closing, follow‑up, and after‑sale service. Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs. Maintain strong knowledge of product features and benefits. Design Program Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs. Execute and champion the Design process following company guidelines. Support design‑related functions in the store. Customer Focus Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers. Ensure positive experiences using good customer service skills and knowledge of products. Use Podium to ensure satisfaction and follow‑up. Make sound business decisions to promote a team environment. Respond to incoming calls and emails. Assist in handling customer issues and provide appropriate solutions. People Maintain positive working relationships with all store employees. Assist in training, coaching, and developing new peers on product knowledge and selling process. Help promote and champion a culture of sales and service. Operational Excellence Assist with maintaining visual appearance, displays, tags, catalogs, and design center fabrics. Accurately complete order information, collect deposits, keep orderly records, and manage payments and deliveries. Responsible for completing daily system logs. Show urgency, enthusiasm, and excitement with the store team and customers. Maintain knowledge of company standards, product knowledge, and internal processes. Schedule deliveries with customers and handle opening/closing duties. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous selling experience and ability to strongly close sales. Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills—build rapport and positively influence. Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills. Ability to manage time and conflicting priorities. Ability to work the schedule and hours dictated by business needs. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Initiative to meet assigned goals and motivated to achieve more. Strong attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field. Compensation and Benefits Training Pay: $21 per hour for 2–6 weeks (no commission). After Training Base Pay: $18 per hour.
