Travel CVOR Registered Nurse Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Facility in Lynchburg, Virginia Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled CVOR RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Lynchburg, Virginia. You will provide direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patients, assist with monitoring and support throughout the surgical procedure, and collaborate closely with the entire surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a CVOR RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification Preferred Qualifications ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Summary The CVOR registered nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patients, assisting in monitoring and supporting the patient throughout the surgical procedure, and ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are sterile and functional. Essential Work Functions Maintain proficiency in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including open and closed heart surgeries Prepare the cardiovascular operating room and assemble equipment, supplies, medications, and implants Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the surgical team to deliver coordinated care Utilize data from surgical preference cards and position patients safely using approved devices Participate in Universal Protocol and timeout to confirm patient identity, procedure, and surgical site Handle and document specimens accurately to ensure diagnostic integrity Provide post-surgical care coordination, including handoff to the recovery team Assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care before, during, and after surgery until handoff to the next phase of care Ensure sterile procedures are followed throughout the surgery Respond effectively to emergencies such as cardiac arrest during surgery Perform other duties as assigned within scope of the position Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Proficiency in following written and verbal instructions and PC skills Physical Abilities Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain a positive attitude Technical/Motor Skills Perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and maneuver while assisting with procedures and using department equipment Mental Requirements Handle frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure Work under close supervision occasionally and independently at times Endure irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration to detail Sensory Visual acuity and effective communication Benefits Include Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first day coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) after 1560 hours Life and short-term disability offered 401(k) matching Aggressive Refer‑a‑friend Bonus Program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs Other Duties Disclaimer To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
