This role involves leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and driving continuous improvement in our automation strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.Job Responsibilities:*** Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex automation systems, including robotics, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks.* Manage automation projects from concept to completion, including scope definition, resource allocation, budget management, and timeline adherence.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, process engineering, IT, and quality assurance, to identify automation opportunities and integrate solutions.* Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for proposed automation initiatives.* Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including schematics, programming logic, test plans, and operational procedures.* Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior automation engineers, fostering their growth and development.* Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.* Stay abreast of emerging automation technologies and industry best practices, recommending and implementing innovative solutions.* Ensure all automation solutions comply with relevant safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines.* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for process optimization and efficiency gains through automation.Job Qualifications:*** Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.* 8+ years of experience in industrial automation, with a strong focus on PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi), HMI development, and robotic integration (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB).* Proven experience leading automation projects from conception to successful implementation.* Expertise in industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).* Strong understanding of control systems theory, mechatronics, and vision systems.* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for electrical and mechanical design.* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.* Ability to travel as needed to support various Jabil manufacturing sites.* Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, UL, CE) related to automation and industrial safety.BE AWARE OF FRAUD: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
