SUMMARY: Perform various routine laboratory functions in a precise and accurate fashion to assist the laboratory professional staff and to facilitate production.

Tracking, Sorting, and Receiving specimens in the department.
Follows CLIA, HIPPA, OSHA and safety guidelines.
Performs laboratory tasks of accessioning samples, record keeping for specimen and specimen exceptions, scanning documentation, specimen storage, and specimen retrieval.
Use of inventory software for supply counts, receiving, stocking, and organizing inventory.
Preparing specimens at workstations for testing.
Decontaminates work areas while keeping and maintaining all toxicology sections have been cleaned and organized.
Uses the laboratory computer system as well as operates PCs.
Follows all PPE requirements and all safety regulations.
Able to handle, for processing, human specimens such as oral and urine samples.
Special projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, but rather a general description of the work performed by this position.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Demonstrates a basic understanding of how Specimen Processing impacts the testing laboratory.
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with deadlines, time constraints, and able to communicate effectively.
Strong team player, works well with staff and peers.
Ability to reason through situations and make sound decisions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday
Additional evening and weekend hours may be required from time to time to accommodate training or business needs.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen.
