We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented *Laundry Assistant* to support the laundry operations in our nursing home. The ideal candidate will ensure that residents' clothing, linens, and other textiles are cleaned, sanitized, and handled with care while maintaining hygiene and infection control standards.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. *Laundry Operations:*

- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute residents’ clothing, bed linens, towels, and other textiles.

- Operate and maintain laundry equipment (washing machines, dryers, ironing machines) safely.

- Follow proper disinfection and stain removal procedures to ensure cleanliness and hygiene.

2. *Quality & Hygiene Control:*

- Adhere to infection control policies and ensure all laundry is sanitized according to healthcare standards.

- Report damaged or worn-out linens and clothing for replacement.

3. *Inventory & Organization:*

- Keep track of laundry supplies (detergents, fabric softeners) and inform supervisors when stocks are low.

- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area.

4. *Resident Care & Support:*

- Handle residents' personal clothing with care and respect.

- Assist with labeling and identifying residents' garments to prevent mix-ups.

5. *Compliance & Safety:*

- Follow workplace safety guidelines and report any equipment malfunctions.

- Comply with nursing home policies and regulatory standards.

EXPERIENCE

Prior experience in laundry operations (preferably in healthcare/hospitality) is a plus but not mandatory. Training will be provided.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Able to operate laundry machines and follow cleaning procedures.

- Physically fit (able to stand for long hours, lift laundry bags, and handle repetitive tasks).

- Attention to detail to prevent damage or loss of garments.

- *Attitude:*

- Reliable, patient, and respectful towards elderly residents.

- Willing to work in a healthcare environment.

- Basic English communication skills (to understand instructions).

- Willing to follow strict hygiene protocols.

- Knowledge of proper fabric care and stain removal techniques.

- Experience working in a nursing home or hospital setting.
