The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. Within this mission, the Audiologist role is positioned in the Head & Neck Center, which provides highly specialized, team-based care for patients with complex head and neck cancers by drawing on one of the nation's deepest pools of clinical expertise. The Audiologist plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative hearing services that support patient-centered oncology care.
At UT MD Anderson, the Audiologist collaborates closely with physicians, allied health professionals, patients, and families to ensure accurate assessment, timely intervention, and coordinated rehabilitation. The Audiologist position contributes directly to clinical excellence, education, and program development while supporting patients of all ages across the continuum of care.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Patient Care
Performs and interprets hearing tests, including basic audiometry, diagnostic audiometry, pediatric audiometry.
Coordinates rehabilitation plans for hearing impaired (to include hearing aid referral).
Maintains current knowledge of diagnostic and rehabilitative techniques and participates in audiological research activities.
Provides consultations to medical personnel, allied health professionals, patients, and family members regarding patient test results and subsequent rehabilitation recommendations.
Maintain Records and Equipment Maintenance
Initiates appropriate referrals and makes rehabilitative recommendation to medical, educational, allied health professionals as well as social agencies.
Formulates timely reports and maintains records of evaluation and patient care.
Ensures that all equipment supplies, materials, and other apparatus necessary for performance of tests is properly working and professionally calibrated on a routine basis
Facilitate Program Development
Supervises clinical externs and 4th year clinical externs.
Facilitate program development and expansion via attendance of professional meetings, via presentations and correspondence
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
- Required: Master's Degree Audiology.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: None
Preferred: Experience obtained in a medical setting.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required: CCC-A - Clinical Competence Audiology issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA within 30 days of hire.
Required: AUD - Audiologist License to practice Audiology issued by the Texas Department of Licensure Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology within 30 Days
