Senior Accountant

Location: Ewing, NJ, Hybrid (4 days onsite/week) Type: Direct Hire, Full Time Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00am–5:00pm (40 hours/week) Compensation: $100,000–$130,000+ plus bonus potential Industry: Generic Pharmaceuticals / Manufacturing Overview System One is partnering with a generic pharmaceutical and biotech research company to hire a detail-oriented, hands-on Senior Accountant to support core accounting and financial reporting, including investor reporting. This role will own key elements of the close process, maintain general ledger integrity, and drive accurate, timely management reporting in a controlled, regulated manufacturing environment. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days onsite per week, with one day working from home (this can be variable and decided by you).

Responsibilities

• Lead/support monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including preparing and posting journal entries
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper cutoff
• Prepare/review accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and recurring close entries
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
• Prepare internal management reports, variance analysis, and investor reporting schedules
• Support financial statement preparation and audit readiness
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and business teams
• Support ERP/SAP initiatives and continuous process improvements
• Help ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements

Requirements

• 4–8 years of relevant accounting experience (senior-level ownership of close/reporting processes)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
• General ledger accounting and month-end close experience
• Generic pharmaceutical industry experience (required)
• ERP experience (SAP preferred)
• Strong Excel, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Preferred background in pharma, life sciences, manufacturing, or other regulated industries in addition to generic pharmaceuticals
