Safety Support Associate – Long Beach, CA Salary: $21.71 - $26.36 per hour Full Time – Monday‑Friday 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm Pay Frequency: 24 Pay Periods Per Year Non‑Exempt A strong commitment to supporting people experiencing homelessness. Your role ensures safety and support at the interim housing site. Responsibilities Assist with ensuring the overall safety of the interim housing site using observation, de‑escalation strategies, and ongoing participant engagement. Coordinate with the on‑site case management team to provide support to the interim housing site. Coordinate with contracted security agencies (if applicable) to ensure the safety of the interim housing site. Conduct regular rounds of the interim housing site and facility grounds and communicate and observe discrepancies or concerns. In collaboration with supervisors and the case management team, respond to interim housing security and/or crisis situations as they arise by utilizing non‑violent crisis intervention and verbal de‑escalation strategies, including the team approach. Assist with completing reports as necessary or requested. Attend meetings and provide input and feedback related to safety and support operations. Attend and actively engage in all required training sessions as assigned by the company and apply learned skills and knowledge to daily tasks and responsibilities. Attend and actively engage in all required staff meetings and events on and off‑site (when applicable). Preferred Qualifications One (1) year experience working with vulnerable populations and/or security and/or de‑escalation/non‑violent crisis intervention.
