Mental Health Counselor

Behavioral Sciences of Alabama, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Clinical Intern to join our team in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will work with a full range of clientele while receiving specialized evidence-based training and clinical development. Our practice is an Institutional Affiliate of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). We offer a supportive environment where team members receive specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), actively participate as therapists in our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program (IOP), and learn to conduct Written Exposure Therapy (WET) for clients diagnosed with PTSD. Responsibilities Clinical Practice: Provide individual and group counseling to a full range of clientele utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities. Specialized OCD & PTSD Treatment: Train in ERP/CBT to deliver specialized care within our IOCDF-affiliated Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and conduct Written Exposure Therapy (WET) for eligible clients diagnosed with PTSD. Assessment & Evaluation: Administer, interpret, and write comprehensive psychoeducational test reports to support client diagnosis and treatment planning. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and adhere to all ethical, state, and practice guidelines. Professional Growth: Participate actively in clinical supervision, case consultations, and continuing education. Qualifications Education & Licensure: Active license in Alabama as an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or currently enrolled in a master's-level counseling internship program. Clinical Skills: Knowledge of or strong interest in evidence-based practices, particularly CBT, ERP, and trauma-focused therapies like Written Exposure Therapy. Assessment Abilities: Willingness and aptitude to learn psychoeducational test administration, interpretation, and report writing. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for writing comprehensive evaluation results and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
