Below, you’ll find other important information about this position.The Lead Rehabilitation Technician functions as an advanced Rehabilitation Technician with added clinical leadership, coordination, and oversight responsibilities. This role supports Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and other rehabilitation disciplines by ensuring efficient deployment of Rehab Tech resources, consistent clinical competency, and optimized patient flow across all service areas. In addition to performing all essential duties of a Rehabilitation Technician, the Lead Rehab Tech provides day‐to‐day guidance, mentorship, and operational coordination for Rehab Tech staff in order to support independent therapist practice, maintain patient safety, and enhance departmental efficiency.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE** 1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 30 days of hire **EXPERIENCE** 3. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Rehabilitation Technician or equivalent patient care role 4. Demonstrated competence working in acute care and high‐acuity environments**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSUR**E 1. Formal patient care training or rehabilitation‐related education 2. Experience providing peer mentoring, precepting, or informal leadership**CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** The statements below describe the general nature of work performed by employees in this position and are not intended to be an all‐inclusive list. **Clinical & Technical Responsibilities** 1. Performs all essential duties of the Rehabilitation Technician role, including assisting therapists with treatment plans for inpatient and outpatient populations. 2. Safely assists with patient mobility, transport, and handling in accordance with Safe Patient Handling policies and patient‐specific care plans. 3. Monitors patient tolerance, safety, and condition during rehabilitation activities and promptly communicates concerns to licensed staff. 4. Assists with cast room procedures, traction setup, equipment preparation, and orthopedic technical support as ordered.**Leadership & Coordination Responsibilities** 1. Provides day‐to‐day functional leadership and guidance to Rehabilitation Technicians across assigned shifts and service areas. 2. Assists with daily coordination and prioritization of Rehab Tech assignments to meet patient care needs and therapist schedules. 3. Serves as a primary point of contact for therapists regarding Rehab Tech availability, coverage, and workflow concerns. 4. Identifies and escalates coverage gaps, missed opportunities, or workflow inefficiencies to Rehabilitation Services leadership.**Training, Mentorship & Quality Support** 1. Assists with onboarding, orientation, and mentoring of new Rehabilitation Technicians. 2. Supports maintenance of consistent clinical standards by reinforcing proper techniques, safety practices, and departmental expectations. 3. Serves as a clinical resource for Rehab Technicians, helping troubleshoot patient care challenges within defined scope of practice.**Operational & Program Support** 1. Assists leadership with tracking Rehab Tech utilization, coverage patterns, and operational needs as requested. 2. Supports ongoing performance improvement initiatives related to patient flow, therapist productivity, and support staffing. 3. Models professionalism, accountability, and collaboration consistent with departmental and organizational values.**Administrative Expectations** 1. Maintains proper attendance, punctuality, and reliability to support efficient operations. 2. Participates in departmental meetings, initiatives, and performance improvement activities as assigned.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform essential job functions. 1. Safe patient handling activities will follow established lift algorithms and equipment guidelines. 2. Heavy/Hard Work: Requires standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, and carrying equipment and materials weighing 40+ lbs. 3. Requires adequate vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.**WORKING ENVIRONMENT** 1.
