Operating Room Liaison (ORL) - Sterile Processing

Responsibilities These roles provide essential assistance to healthcare professionals in delivering patient care. Ensure smooth functioning of clinical operations by handling tasks that support diagnostic, therapeutic, and procedural aspects of patient care. Allied Health - Health Services professionals work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services. The focus is on preparation, performance, and post-operative support to surgical teams. Responsibilities include sterilization, instrument preparation and handling, and operational or hands‑on support required during surgery. Roles may be performed in hospitals, surgical centers, and clinics, covering tasks from planning and preparation to recovery and follow‑up. (Perioperative Nurses excluded.) Individual contributors provide support to the organization, typically in direct service, operational, technical, or administrative functions. Majority of time is spent delivering support services, usually under supervision. Opportunities for progression outside this career stream are typically limited without additional education or significant training and experience. Seasoned individual contributors work under limited supervision for routine situations. They provide assistance and training to lower level employees, analyze non‑routine problems, make minor adjustments to work methods, develop independent solutions, and explain practices, procedures, and policies to reach agreement with others outside the Job Area. Minimum Requirements Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Experience: At least 2 years of experience, preferably as CNA, EMT, PCT, or CMA. Licensure: BLS Certification required. Additional certifications/licensure may be required; see position requisition for specifics. Physical Demands Job requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent bending, stooping, traveling, and reaching overhead. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; ability to write legibly. Ability to lift, push, pull 25–50 lbs. Work environment may contain fumes, chemicals, vibrations, heat, noise, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases. Compensation The starting base rate for this role is $19.88 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
