Inhospital Physicians is seeking Emergency Medicine physicians to join the team at St. John’s Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas . This is a community-based ED with a strong culture, consistent volume, and diverse case mix , including behavioral health and correctional population exposure.

This role is ideal for physicians who value autonomy, efficiency, and a supportive team environment .

• 1099 independent contractor role
• 12-hour shifts
• Full-time: 120 hours/month
• Competitive hourly compensation

• ~34 patients per day
  
• Broad acuity

• Chest pain
• Abdominal pain
• Behavioral health (SI, PTSD)
• Urologic complaints

• 1 Emergency Medicine physician (day)
• 1 Emergency Medicine physician (night)
• 1 APP (mid-shift)
• Admissions managed by hospitalists

• ~14 ED beds with fast track
  

• Serves multiple correctional facilities (including a federal detention center)
  

• EMR: Epic with Dragon dictation
• Intensivist support available
• Tele-neurology support
• Anesthesia support

• Strong, team-oriented culture

• Designated provider parking

• Board Certified / Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM preferred)
• Will consider ABFM with 2+ years Emergency Medicine experience or EM fellowship
• Active or eligible for Kansas medical license (IMLC eligible)
• Comfortable with independent coverage and transfer-based care

• Transfer coordination required for certain specialties
• Correctional patient population is a meaningful part of volume
• Standalone ED model requires adaptability
