With something for everyone, you can picnic at the Eiffel Tower, find vintage treasures and unique boutiques downtown, experience delicious local cuisine, and explore historic venues and parksPosition SummaryThe pharmacist is responsible for preparing and dispensing medications, overseeing pharmacy technicians and ensuring the accuracy and safety of all drug therapy provided to patients. This position supports the healthcare team by offering pharmacological expertise and contributing to positive patient outcomes.Essential FunctionsReview and interpret physician medication orders for accuracy, dosage and patient safetyPrepare and dispensed prescribed medications according to professional standards and regulatory guidelinesSupervise and direct pharmacy support staff in day-to-day functionsMonitor patient responses to medications and identify potential adverse reactionsProvide drug information to physicians, nurses and other healthcare providersMaintain accurate records of all controlled substances and monitor complianceEnsure that medication storage and dispensing complies with infection control, safety and regulatory standardsParticipate in clinical rounds, case discussions, etc as requiredPerform quality assurance checks and participate in departmental auditsPrecept college of pharmacy studentsQualificationsHolds an active Texas pharmacist license (TX) – active and unrestrictedPossesses at least 1 year of inpatient hospital experience (preferred)Omnicell and Meditech experience (preferred)Degree from an accredited School of PharmacyLifepoint Health is a leader in community-based care and driven by a mission of Making Communities Healthier.
