Our seeds help mitigate risks such as disease, insect, weed, and extreme weather pressures, all while promoting sustainable farming practices The Role of the RA3 is to lead complex activities and projects in seed lab and nursery seed production., Executes role responsibilities with seasonal supervision. Functioning as an integral member of a team leading all aspects of seed lab activities including packaging, treating, seed transfers, inventory, and shipping. Manage up to 30 part time staff to ensure quality, timeliness and efficiency of all seed lab processes. Manage the weekly labor needs to account for current and future workload. Deliver projects in a quality an timely manner. Leading tasks supported with FTE staff and third-party contract labor to achieve desired results. Provide daily direction and support to contract staff. Provide task specific training to FTEs and contract staff Performing all tasks and behaving in a manner compliant with and in support of all safety and stewardship related company policies and practices, including completing all required company training courses. Leading complex projects and deliver on key targets. Effectively communicating regularly with peers and supervisors regarding the status of projects and work activities. This includes, but is not limited to, OPT, CPT, and H-1B visa holders. Degree in an Agriculture, Logistics, or Operations Management related discipline and/or relevant experience preferred. 3 or more years previous work experience in a related field A basic understanding of plant genetics and breeding Clear understanding of the practices and procedures that affect nursery seed production quality, quantity, and timelines. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s history and ability to obtain a Chemical Applicators License within 3 - 6 months of hire date, is strongly recommended. Ability to use MS Office, especially Word and Excel, and other standard software. Experience with basic lab equipment including specialized seed counters, printers, scales, and scanners.
