Paramedic Per Diem Float

Job Title Paramedic PRN Float Responsibilities Travel to Radiology Regional outpatient medical office settings throughout Southwest Florida as needed from the Sarasota‑Naples region. Start IVs. Monitor patients. Administer medication for various reactions as needed. Enact code policy as needed. Assist with patient lifting as needed. Administer flu vaccinations. Answer telephone calls as needed. Call in advance of scheduled exams to verify appointments as needed. Dispense and explain preps for different exams as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. NREMT and ACLS certifications required. Ability to relate to the public in a professional and courteous manner, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender, mental/physical health, age, or economic status. Calm and appropriate response to emergency situations. Successful completion of an accredited program, state and federal licenses (as applicable), and appropriate registrations and/or certifications. Excellent customer service skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and additional medical‑related knowledge preferred. Detail‑oriented, organized, with the ability to interact effectively with doctors, staff, patients, vendors, peers, and management. Quality Standards Communicate, cooperate, and consistently function professionally and harmoniously with all levels of supervision, co‑workers, patients, visitors, and vendors. Demonstrate initiative, personal awareness, professionalism and integrity, and exercise confidentiality in all areas. Promote good public relations on the phone and in person. Adapt and be willing to learn new tasks, methods and approaches. Report to work regularly as scheduled; consistently be punctual with respect to working hours, meal and rest breaks, and maintain satisfactory personal attendance in accordance with guidelines. Consistently adhere to time‑management policies and complete job responsibilities in a quality and timely manner. Physical Demands Ability to concentrate on detailed work for prolonged periods. Ability to adjust routine to accommodate patients or department without affecting departmental flow. Ability to assist with lifting patients if needed. Perform moderately difficult manipulative skills and eye–hand coordination skills. See objects closely and hear normal sounds with some background noises. Ability to concentrate on moderate detail with frequent interruption and attend to tasks for less than 10 minutes at a time. Ability to understand and relate to specific ideas generally, several at a time. Ability to communicate verbally, using standard high‑school vocabulary. This position often requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching with hands and arms, using hands and fingers, handling or palpating, speaking, listening, and high‑level cognition. Must be able to lift over 50 pounds, occasionally. All employees are to assist and participate as members of a lift assistance team for patients requiring assistance with placement on a table or equipment.
