OBJECTIVE & QUALIFICATIONS

Assist the Director of Operations in the Current Washington State EMT Certificate or higher. operational and administrative Minimum one year experience as an EMT or Paramedic management of the branch. Provide within the Company preferred. supervisory oversight for all Shift Leads

• Previous leadership experience in EMS preferred. and field providers, leading by example and fostering a positive work Able to communicate effectively using verbal and written environment. Represent the company forums. in a professional manner by being Proficient computer skills including but not limited to courteous to the public, members of Microsoft Word©, Microsoft Excel© and Microsoft other agencies and employees at all Outlook©. times. Minimum one year post-high school education preferred.

Job Purpose:

Support the Director of Operations in efforts to drive organizational change by participating in the development, implementation and evaluation of changes to ensure overall agency improvement. The MedicalOfficer/Nursing Officer (MO/NO) is an adjunct to the Director and will have responsibilities for complex, drawn out projects as well as simple day to day tasks. The MO/NO assists with oversight of daily operations, the fleet and employees, ensuring employees are performing their daily requirements according to corporate expectations. Acts in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

The incumbent must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of a MO/NO and anEmergency Medical Technician in a professional and compassionate manner. Under direction, request or need of the Director, the MO/NO will:

• Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
• Encourage, motivate and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.
• Ensure Shift Leads are demonstrating appropriate leadership qualities to field crews on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure employees adhere to company policies and procedures including but not limited to: o completion of daily rig checks o housekeeping standards o uniform adherence o response times o safe driving standards

OLYMPIC AMBULANCE o EHR standards and HIPAA Compliance o initial and ongoing training requirements o maintaining a professional demeanor at all times

• Manage monthly scheduling and participate in the oversight of daily staffing levels to ensure 24 hour coverage of all ALS and BLS units, participating and responding to calls as needed.
• Assist in reviewing PCRs for completion and accuracy, as needed.
• Assist in the recruitment of new employees.
• Lead the FTO program; participate in the training and evaluation of new hire and probationary field providers.
• Assist with monthly OTEP.
• Stay current on training for new equipment, procedures and techniques.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance of all field providers; coach EMTs and paramedics regarding improvements in clinical and documentation processes.
• Ensure all required employee certifications are current.
• Manage on-duty exposures as necessary.
• Order uniforms as necessary.
• Be familiar with and able to assist the fire department as part of the incident command system during large scale events.
• Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the company's privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a health care provider.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to complete a state approved EVOC course.
• Ability to obtain and maintain FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certificates.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the Washington State EMS Evaluator certification as soon as allowed under state law.
• Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish assigned work.
• Demonstrated ability to identify educational needs and develop training programs or classes to teach personnel.
• Proficiency and understanding of Northwest Region EMS Protocols and County Operating Procedures required.
• Ability to handle complaints, settle disputes, resolve grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiate with others.
• Ability to perform day to day administrative tasks as well as more complex projects as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
