We’re Looking for a Housekeeper The Housekeeper cleans and sanitizes common areas, homes, apartments, suites, and healthcare units on campus and follows a regular work schedule under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Represent the campus positively, creating an environment of respect and courtesy for residents and employees. Uphold the campus’s Mission Statement. Maintain HIPAA standards and keep all medical or healthcare information confidential. Remove trash from the campus collection areas. Cleans inhabited and vacant units to “like new” condition, including cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass, windows, walls, fixtures, and window sills. Cleans building areas to “like new” condition, including cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass, windows, walls, fixtures, and window sills. Use cleaning chemicals and supplies properly. Other Duties and Responsibilities Travel occasionally for training sessions, continuing education opportunities, emergency situations, and other company functions. Understand and follow fire and safety procedures, including blood‑borne pathogen protocols. Maintain proper uniform and high appearance standards at all times. Complete all work/cleaning orders in a timely manner. Exercise waste control. Interact well with marketing tours and prospective residents. Maintain excellent resident and employee relations, handling complaints and recommendations constructively. Attend employee in‑services as required. Accept other duties as required by the Housekeeping Supervisor. Prerequisites High school graduation or GED required. Technical certification from a janitorial program desired. Janitorial or maintenance experience required. Two years experience in a similar housekeeping position desired. Ability to work with minimal and close supervision. Professional conduct and high level of confidentiality. Ability to use hand tools, carts, and dollies. Work outdoors and indoors during the workday (fluorescent lights, HVAC system, carpeted flooring, normal office noise levels). Climb up to two flights of stairs. Lift objects of 25 pounds or less over the head. Move objects of 40 pounds or more. Work under time‑sensitive or stressful situations. Respond to medical emergencies on a rare occasion.
