DIR - ENGINEERING/PLANT OPS

Position Purpose The Plant Operations and Environment of Care Director ensures the maintenance of a safe, clean, healthy, and physical environment for patients, staff and guests in the standard consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Laurel Ridge Treatment Center. The Director is responsible for managing FTEs and daily budgetary initiatives within the department, as well as ensuring compliance with state, federal, local and Managed Care regulatory requirements for fire and life safety codes, building and engineering codes, and the maintenance and operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and grounds maintenance equipment. Reports To Chief Operations Officer Supervises Maintenance Workers and Contracting Staff Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. Develop, write, and implement departmental policies and procedures. Develop, write and implement quarterly training for staff. Ensure customer satisfaction for all patients, visitors and staff. As Safety Officer, develop, write and implement plant operations program reported to the Safety Committee. Cover work areas as needed. Maintain computerized maintenance management. Meet roof maintenance standards. Meet building maintenance program for life safety. Meet TJC emergency preparedness standards. Meet infrastructure assessment standards. Be proficient in long‑range capital planning. Be proficient in disaster planning, recovery and mitigation. Meet medical equipment maintenance standards. Be proficient in inventory management. Maintain, control and supervise all aspects of central supply, purchasing and mailroom. Follow responsibilities outlined in training. Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities : Knowledge of maintenance practices, departmental and personnel policies and procedures, fire and safety code, Joint Commission requirements, state and federal regulations relating to plant operations, plant technology and engineering. Ability to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment, plan, organize and conduct maintenance processes in a timely manner, and communicate effectively in written and verbal form. Education : College graduate; preferably with a Facility Engineering degree or equivalent work experience. Licensure/Certification : Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record. Experience : Minimum of 5 years in general plant operation/engineering and building construction, with supervisory experience required.
