Every day you will perform diverse ultrasound procedures on various patient populations, using advanced equipment. You'll prepare patients, acquire/process optimal images, recognize/document pathology, and provide preliminary findings. Maintaining equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and collaborating with radiologists are key. To be successful, you will possess strong technical proficiency in ultrasound, a deep understanding of anatomy/physiology/pathology, and meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication for patient/team interaction and a commitment to diagnostic accuracy/patient safety are essential.Demonstrates the ability to safely and competently perform tasks, skills, duties, procedures and responsibilities according to Medical Center Policy and Procedure. Including, but not limited to:Demonstrates ability to assess/interpret age-specific data.Maintains current BCLS-C, ARDMS (if applicable)Demonstrates a strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology.Identifies all patients and ensures appropriate examination is performed.Consistently verifies all procedures as soon as they are completed.RequiredGraduate of an approved ARDMS Ultrasound Program.1-3 years full time work experience as a sonographer in an acute care environmentRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (OB)Basic Life Support - CPRWhere You'll WorkFounded in 1923, Dignity Health - St. Mary Medical Center is a 389-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Long Beach, California.
