Join Our Team as Medical Director

We are seeking a skilled veterinarian to take on the role of Medical Director at our organization. This full-time position will primarily focus on our Santa Paula location, while we also have facilities in Ventura and Agoura Hills. We offer flexible scheduling options, ideally four days a week from Monday to Saturday, but we are open to alternative arrangements.

As an AAHA accredited and forward-thinking general practice for companion animals, we prioritize the training and development of our team members. About Our Hospital:
  • A collaborative multi-doctor team (12 in Ventura and 3 in Santa Paula)
  • General medicine and surgical services for dogs and cats
  • A talented team of technicians, including 7 Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs)
  • Urgent care services with same-day appointments and emergency care
  • Ultrasonography capabilities
  • Comprehensive dentistry services, including digital dental x-rays
  • Limited exotic animal care (reptiles, rabbits, pocket pets)
  • Rehabilitation medicine, acupuncture, and holistic treatment options

  • Full-time veterinarians typically work 3-4 shifts per week

Who We Are Looking For:
  • A genuine passion for animal care and helping people

  • At least 5 years of experience in general practice and/or emergency care
  • Strong leadership abilities (prior experience as a Medical Director is a plus)
  • In addition to high-quality medical and surgical skills, we seek individuals with excellent communication and customer service abilities, along with a commitment to mentoring staff
  • A dedication to lifelong learning and staying updated on industry advancements
  • A valid California veterinary license and the ability to obtain a DEA license are required

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of veterinary experience; Medical Director experience is advantageous but not mandatory
  • DVM or VMD degree
  • A valid California veterinary license and the ability to obtain a DEA license are required
  • In addition to high-quality medical and surgical skills, we seek veterinarians with strong client communication and customer service skills, as well as a commitment to ongoing education.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The provided salary range for this position is $130,000 - $165,000 annually. Individual compensation within this range will be influenced by work location and other factors, including relevant skills, experience, and education. We offer competitive pay along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more, depending on the location.
