Metrology Inspection Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Metrology Inspection Engineer with expertise in dimensional inspection, advanced metrology equipment, and blueprint interpretation. The ideal candidate will have experience performing precision measurements using contact and non-contact metrology systems while supporting engineering teams in delivering high-quality inspection results.

Required Skills

Experience with contact and non-contact metrology inspection.
Advanced programming experience with OGP SmartScope .
Hands-on experience operating Keyence Optical Profilometer .
Strong blueprint reading skills with GD&T interpretation.
Experience using optical comparators and digital microscopes.
Experience with white light scanning systems.
Proficiency using hand gages, micrometers, and calipers.
Strong mathematics skills, including trigonometry.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Key Responsibilities

Perform dimensional inspections of medical devices and components using contact and non-contact metrology equipment.
Collaborate with engineering teams to determine measurement requirements and recommend inspection methods.
Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications for complex inspection tasks.
Develop and execute advanced inspection programs using OGP SmartScope systems.
Collect dimensional data using optical comparators, digital microscopes, white light scanners, Keyence optical profilometers, and precision hand measuring tools.
Analyze inspection results, troubleshoot measurement issues, and provide technical recommendations.
Handle biohazardous materials in accordance with established safety procedures when required.
Support additional laboratory and metrology activities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in medical device, manufacturing, or precision engineering environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to measurement accuracy.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate within cross-functional teams.
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new inspection technologies and laboratory procedures.
