Job Summary The Strategic Insights Manager is the analytical and strategic thought partner to Go to Market leadership, translating customer, operational, and financial data into actionable recommendations that improve retention and business performance. In partnership with Data Analytics and cross-functional teams, this role frames business questions, identifies root causes, sizes opportunities, develops business cases, and communicates clear recommendations to senior leaders. Success requires strong analytical thinking, business judgment, executive storytelling, and the ability to influence without direct authority. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Strategic Analysis and Insight Development Lead analyses of customer, operational, and financial performance to identify trends, root causes, risks, and opportunities. Frame ambiguous business challenges as structured questions and testable hypotheses, defining the data and analyses required. Integrate findings across data sources and translate analytical outputs into clear implications and recommended actions. Partner with Data Analytics to define requirements, provide business context, interpret outputs, validate findings, and communicate assumptions or limitations. Strategic Recommendations and Impact Assessment Lead strategic studies, including root cause investigations, customer journey analyses, executive deep dives, opportunity assessments, and business cases. Develop fact-based recommendations that improve retention, customer experience, operational effectiveness, or financial outcomes. Evaluate options and quantify value, cost, risk, feasibility, strategic alignment, and resource requirements. Translate insights into practical priorities and actions, constructively challenging assumptions when evidence supports a different direction. Develop business cases that define the opportunity, benefits, investment, assumptions, risks, feasibility, and success measures. Define baselines, key performance indicators, and measurement plans with initiative owners. Evaluate post-implementation results, capture lessons learned, and recommend adjustments. Executive Decision Support and Cross-Functional Partnership Develop executive-ready presentations and decision materials that explain what the data shows, why it matters, recommended actions, and decisions required. Present findings to senior leaders, anticipating questions and supporting recommendations with evidence, sound logic, and transparent assumptions. Facilitate discussions that align stakeholders on implications, priorities, decisions, owners, and next steps. Partner with initiative leads to convert recommendations into actions, accountable owners, and measurable outcomes. Promote structured problem-solving and data-informed decision-making across the organization. Working Conditions Hybrid position in Houston, TX, with minimal travel and occasional overtime based on business needs. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, strategic analytics, business insights, or a related discipline. Proven ability to analyze complex customer, operational, or financial data and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Advanced structured problem-solving skills, including hypothesis development, root cause analysis, opportunity sizing, business case development, and impact assessment. Advanced proficiency with Power BI or Tableau, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience developing and presenting concise executive-level insights and recommendations. Ability to influence across functions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with a leading consulting firm or internal corporate strategy team; an MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus. Experience in customer retention, lifecycle, experience, growth strategy, customer journey analysis, or enterprise business cases. Familiarity with segmentation, forecasting, experimentation, statistical methods, or other advanced analytics concepts. Experience partnering with analytics or data science teams; knowledge of energy, utility, retail, subscription, telecommunications, financial services, or customer service industries. Ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop testable hypotheses, and connect detailed findings to broader priorities. Excellent data storytelling, executive presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to translate complex analysis into simple, evidence-based recommendations and constructively challenge assumptions. Independent, accountable, detail-oriented, and comfortable creating structure with limited direction. Physical Requirements Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities. May require sitting for extended periods of time.
