This highly flexible, part-time contract position invites a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to dedicate 45 minutes per week—scheduled anytime between 9:30 AM and 2:45 PM—to working with a Kindergarten student who is non-verbal, uses an AAC device, and is developmentally delayed.

You’ll focus primarily on developing core vocabulary skills, supporting a student who is on the spectrum and learns in a self-contained classroom. Compassion, creativity, and patience are essential, as the student requires a tailored approach centered around functional communication and safe, supportive interventions due to instances of self-harm.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current state license (or eligibility) as an SLP
• Experience with AAC devices and augmentative communication strategies
• Previous work with children with autism, developmental delays, and/or non-verbal communication
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to create engaging, individualized therapy activities
• Understanding of strategies to manage challenging behaviors in a supportive manner

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct speech-language services focused on core vocabulary using AAC
• Conduct assessments to inform therapy goals and measure progress
• Consult and collaborate with classroom staff, support team, and caregivers
• Demonstrate flexible thinking and adaptable scheduling
• Maintain accurate records and timely documentation
• Foster a safe, encouraging, and communicative environment for the student
