Associate Sales Engineer, SE Desk [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Sales Engineer, SE Desk - Mid West based in the United States.

This role provides technical sales support across connected operations, IoT, AI, and computer vision solutions.
You will work closely with customers and sales teams to understand technical needs and identify appropriate solutions.
The position combines customer discovery, technical demonstrations, API support, troubleshooting, and product expertise.
You will help prospects understand complex technologies while translating technical feedback between customers, sales, and product teams.
The role offers exposure to hardware, sensors, cloud software, networking, integrations, and real-world operational environments.
You will contribute to customer relationships and sales effectiveness while becoming a trusted technical resource for the broader sales organization.

Accountabilities:

• Develop strong expertise in connected operations products and technologies spanning IoT, AI, computer vision, hardware, and software.
• Conduct efficient customer discovery to understand business and technical requirements and address technical questions, ideally within a single interaction.
• Provide technical support for standard demonstrations, account coverage, and temporary technical needs across the sales organization.
• Explain device installation and deployment requirements clearly enough to guide prospects and customers remotely.
• Educate customers on technical aspects of APIs and deploy scripts using APIs into testing environments when required.
• Support Account Executives by providing technical expertise throughout customer engagements and advocating for customer and prospect needs in internal discussions.
• Serve as a liaison between product and sales teams, translating technical feedback and helping identify suitable customers for beta programs.
• Build trusted relationships with customers by understanding their operational environments, business challenges, and technology needs.
• Collaborate with sales and technical colleagues to share knowledge, best practices, and effective approaches to customer engagement.
• Champion company values and operating principles while contributing to a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or a related discipline.
• 1+ year of experience working directly with customers in a pre-sales, sales engineering, technical support, or similar capacity is preferred.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of at least one of the following areas: cloud software, networking, automation, or control systems .
• Interest in and familiarity with IoT hardware, sensors, connected devices, or vehicles is a plus.
• Strong customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to quickly understand customer needs and translate them into appropriate technical solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with sales, product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
• Curiosity about how different businesses operate and how technology can improve real-world workflows.
• Customer-focused mindset with an emphasis on building genuine, long-term relationships.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and manage multiple technical requests with responsiveness and attention to detail.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States and the ability to maintain the required work authorization for the position.

• Annual on-target earnings (OTE) of $77,350–$104,000 USD , with actual compensation varying based on factors such as location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
