Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. This position involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while promoting a culture of safety for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized plans of care.
• Identify patient and family teaching needs through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record accurately and timely.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, focusing on direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain a safe and supportive work environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
• Assume charge responsibilities when required and contribute to team-building activities.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
