Surgical Scheduler

This position is responsible for the successful completion of the surgical scheduling process for patients requiring elective surgery at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Required skills/qualifications/training/experience include three to five years previous experience in a medical office, command of verbal and written English, positive interpersonal communication skills, and good organizational skills. Understanding of referral and prior authorization process, strong organizational skills, ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, hospital surgical schedulers, and PCP's office staff, and effective communication with patients are also required.

Preferred skills/qualifications/training/experience include knowledge of medical terminology, computer skills, knowledge of physician appointments and schedule management, and the ability to work independently.

Educational requirements include a high school graduate or equivalent; a two-year associate's degree or equivalent is preferred.
