Sourcing Analyst

Salary: USD30 - USD36.83 per hour W-2 Contract Role Duration: 3 months Location: Cary, IL 60013 Support development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities in assigned commodity. Obtain the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. The Associate Commodity Manager will support the development and implementation of specific strategies and projects related to cost reduction initiatives, new product development, supply base and sourcing optimization and rationalization, quality improvement, risk assessment, and contract negotiation. Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts, and long‑term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for procurement of technical equipment, custom engineered products, systems, software, or components. Acquires and maintains understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends, and supplier technology road maps. Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy and discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds. Responsibilities Support development and implementation of strategies and goals for assigned commodities in support of overall divisional business objectives. Support development and implementation of processes to build a best‑in‑class strategic sourcing organization. Develop and lead cross‑functional teams and lead the process to create strategic commodity plans, consolidation strategy, and spend/supply assessments taking into account total product life cycle needs. Participate in sourcing analysis and selection process and perform cost analyses and make‑versus‑buy analyses as required. Participate in development of contract strategy. Negotiate, establish, monitor, and enforce supplier contracts and agreements. Develop strong partnership relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses. Identify supply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans. Obtain and communicate market condition information and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers. Utilize market trends to identify and implement appropriate cost controls and business strategy changes. Perform cost analyses and make‑versus‑buy analyses as required. Assure that cost standards are established for annual operating budgets. Collaborate across functions, divisions, and campuses to develop scorecards and business reviews for key suppliers. Organize and lead scorecard review meetings and business reviews. Qualifications 6+ years in Supply Management with focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development. Knowledge and application of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractual terms, and contract administration. Knowledge of supplier processes and supply chain risk factors including experience in assessing and mitigating risk in the supply base. Ability to negotiate effectively to obtain best prices and terms on products, materials, and services. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to suppliers, team members, team leaders, and top management. Ability to build relationships and influence across multiple functions and levels both internally and externally. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and cost reduction methodologies. Experience with supplier metrics and measurement methodologies and supporting systems. Strong skills in leadership, negotiations, influencing, communication and presentation, project management, troubleshooting and problem solving, analysis, strategic thinking, and collaborative team building. Strong judgment with the ability to make and communicate timely and sound decisions. International sourcing and supplier management experience preferred. Experience operating in a highly regulated industry. Medical device industry sourcing and supplier management experience preferred. Working knowledge of ISO 13485 standards and requirements preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in ISO 13485 standards preferred. Supplier audit experience in quality system standards: FDA QSR, ISO 3485 and ISO 9001 preferred. Proficient with basic computer programs including Microsoft Suite applications. Project management knowledge and experience preferred. Education Bachelor's Degree in Supply Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
