Brave Health is stepping up to close this gap by making mental health care accessible, affordable, and life-changing for all.Our Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a critical role in assessing patients' mental and physical health based on symptoms and complaints. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans, which may include conducting individual psychotherapy, diagnosing psychiatric disorders, and prescribing medications. NPs also order diagnostic tests, monitor patients' medication use and side effects, and educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options. They must maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) while adhering to HIPAA, state regulations, and national standards of care.The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $135,000.ResponsibilitiesTreatment Planning & Implementation:Provide care to adolescent and adult patients, or across the lifespan, as assigned.Assess patients' mental and physical status based on presenting symptoms and complaints.Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions.Distinguish between physiologically- and psychologically-based disorders and diagnose appropriately.Conduct individual psychotherapy for those with chronic or acute mental disorders.Order appropriate diagnostic testing such as EKGs, lab work, and other forms of testing as needed.Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, and educate patients on medication risks, benefits, and side effects.Monitor patients' medication usage, side effects, and results.Evaluate patients' behavior and response to treatment to assess the effectiveness of interventions.Work effectively with difficult patients, verbally deescalating when necessary.Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, or evaluate treatment plans.Educate patients and family members about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.Compliance & Documentation:Document patients' medical and psychological histories, physical assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.Complete administrative documentation related to patient care, including FMLA and other Brave-approved forms.Schedule and coordinate appropriate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment needs.Complete all patient visits and accurate documentation in the EHR.Practice in compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national standards of care, and internal policies.Use recommended references and consult with the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director as needed for clinical guidance.Qualifications2 years experience practicing as a Nurse PractitionerCurrently holds a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP)Experience in Addiction and Mental HealthOpen to obtaining additional state licensuresMotivational Interviewing experienceWillingness to work in partnership with the client to achieve goalsMust have experience working with adults in need of general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatmentMust have experience and comfort working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13yrs+)Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or substance abuse dual-diagnoses.Treatment planningAbility to conduct and utilize comprehensive assessmentsTimely and quality documentation; experience with EHRsAdaptable to technology including telehealth software; comfortable with video communicationAwareness of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2Eligibility to work in the United States.
