Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Mother/Baby Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NRP (advanced), STABLE Must-Have: Two years of acute care RN experience; Epic experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit while promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments as needed and demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care while collaborating with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary services. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs, appropriate to the care, treatment, and services provided. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and functions as a mentor/preceptor. Demonstrates and encourages teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards and participates in the Practice Governance model.
