Certified Sterile Processor

Schedule: Evenings, weekends, holidays, on call/callback as per unit needs, 40 hours/week

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Requirements:

• Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)
• Experience in a large hospital (500 beds or more)
• Travel experience (6 months)
• Two professional references from the last two assignments

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrument pans and procedural trays.
• Operate steam sterilizers according to established procedures, ensuring proper time, pressure, and temperature.
• Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining compliance with established protocols.
• Receive and store supplies, checking stock against requisitions and documenting discrepancies.
• Perform daily quality assurance checks on stock levels, sterility dates, and accuracy of procedure carts.
• Maintain records of equipment inventory, servicing frequency, and equipment conditions.
