LPSD teams work across regions and function to deliver safe, reliable and compliant solutions that help solve our customers’ toughest challenges.About LEC (Lafayette Engine Center)The Lafayette Engine Center (LEC) manufactures the Cat 3500, Cat 3600 and C175 engines helping Caterpillar become the world’s leading manufacturer of off-highway diesel and natural gas engines.The units built at LEC power mining trucks carrying ore to be processed, tugboats guiding ships to harbor, drill rigs tapping oil and gas reserves and generators bringing electricity to communities, hospitals and data centersJob SummaryThe Lafayette Engine center has a 1st shift EHS Senior Team Leader opening to provide leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to a small facility or one discipline at a medium to large facility.What you will doIdentifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alerts line management to problems.
