Salary: $85,000 - $128,000 per year A bit about us: Our client, a leading utility company, is seeking a Safety & Occupational Health Specialist to support and enhance their environmental health and safety (EHS) programs. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and minimizing risk across field and operational environments. 2. Conducting regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
3. Providing safety training and education to all employees, including CPR, First Aid, and Forklift operation.
4. Managing and maintaining records of all safety-related incidents and conducting thorough investigations to prevent recurrence.
5. Collaborating with management and employees to promote awareness and understanding of safety and occupational health policies and procedures.
6. Preparing and presenting regular safety reports to management, highlighting trends, and suggesting improvements.
7. Responding to emergency situations and coordinating with emergency response teams as necessary. Qualifications: The successful candidate for the Permanent Safety & Occupational Health Specialist role will have: 1. A Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
3. Certifications including Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), and Forklift Certified Trainer (can be obtained after hire).
4. Proficiency in CPR and First Aid.
5. Excellent knowledge of federal and state safety and health regulations, including OSHA standards.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively deliver training and presentations.
7. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
8. A proactive approach to safety and health, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
