Production Supervisor

About the Company Teijin Automotive Technologies is a Tier One supplier that specializes in the compounding and manufacturing of lightweight composite components for the transportation industry. Position Summary The Production Supervisor directs production activities by supervising production supervisors and coordinating the manufacturing of products to meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives in partnership with the Operations Manager. Responsibilities Plan and direct short‑term production functions (shift, day, and weekly) to meet schedule, quality, and cost goals. Analyze production requirements and problems to implement corrective action for manpower scheduling, equipment needs, and technical issues. Provide planning input to long‑term planning functions based on performance, staffing, and equipment availability. Review and analyze cost and schedule data of various operations to monitor performance and productivity and implement improvement plans as required. Monitor and control overhead spending to stay within approved plant operating budgets. Enforce work rules and practices fairly to staff and hourly workforce. Provide input on methods to improve productivity through equipment acquisition, better assembly methods, and overhead reductions. Assess employee skills, create personnel development plans, and conduct performance appraisals for all staff. Interact with other departments as necessary to ensure proper system function. Comply with all safety standards and regulations. Delegate work to subordinates when necessary to ensure efficiency and timely completion of all tasks. Complete necessary documentation and file appropriately. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Management preferred, or high school diploma/GED equivalent with related manufacturing and production supervision experience. At least five years of production and/or supervisory experience. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Strong proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word and Excel.
