Logistics Safety Coordinator

Position SummaryThe Logistics Safety Coordinator operates within the GardaWorld Security Operations Center (SOC) and is responsible for the 24/7/365 safety of transportation logistics across the United States. This role actively utilizes Samsara to monitor driver behavior, review and escalate safety events, ensure driver safety compliance, and mitigate logistics risk.Key Responsibilities1. Driver Safety Monitoring & Risk DetectionMonitor and identify real-time transportation risk behaviors, including driver safety exceptionsReview daily safety camera events and driver safety scores to identify high-risk behaviors such as distraction, speeding, following distance, and harsh drivingDetect and assess safety and security incidents promptly, including unauthorized access and suspicious activityEscalate incidents as needed to ensure timely and effective responseSupport real-time intervention for critical driver safety events (e.g., distraction, drowsiness, severe speeding)2. Safety Event Review & Case ManagementPull, review, and document video footage and telematics data for driver safety and security eventsRoute critical events and video clips to Safety leadership for timely review and actionTrack coaching activities, corrective actions, and required follow-up actionsMaintain event documentation and case records for audits, claims, and investigationsSupport real-time incident review and escalation using dashcam footage and telematics data3. Coaching Support & Operational PartnershipPartner with Operations, Risk, and HR to support coaching, corrective actions, and driver accountabilityAssist in identifying behavior trends and recurring risk patterns across drivers and regionsEnsure alignment between SOC monitoring activities and field execution of driver coachingCollaborate with logistics teams and stakeholders to ensure effective coordination between SOC programs and operations4. Samsara Platform Ownership & Data Analysis (Primary Focus)Manage alerts, rules, dashboards, and reporting within the platformMonitor vehicle activity, GPS tracking, idle time, and driver behavior metricsPull and analyze fleet data to support Operations, Safety, and Leadership decision-makingSupport the development and refinement of driver safety scoring, event thresholds, and alert configurations5. Reporting, Analytics & Continuous ImprovementAnalyze driver safety trends, recurring risk behaviors, and event patterns across the fleetDevelop insights to support driver safety program improvements and risk reduction strategiesMaintain accurate reporting for management review, KPI tracking, and regulatory complianceConduct root cause analysis for significant incidents to identify systemic improvement opportunitiesParticipate in business continuity planning and after-action reviews to refine SOPs and apply lessons learnedSkills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred1–2+ years of experience in Security Operations Center (SOC), logistics monitoring, fleet management, driver safety, or related fieldExperience with telematics systems (Samsara preferred), fleet management platforms, or case management systemsStrong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify risk patternsExcellent communication skills to coordinate with field teams and leadershipAbility to work in a fast-paced, real-time operational environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, O365) and data reporting toolsExperience in supply chain risk management, logistics security, or logistics safety preferredJobFamilyUSAPayTypeHourly
