Pre-Op Registered Nurse Part Time

Houston Physicians Hospital is hiring a Part‑Time Pre‑Op Registered Nurse. The role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional care while upholding our core values of value, integrity, continuity, accessibility, and community engagement. Responsibilities Readies the area to receive patients. Conducts and documents departmental environmental audits. Assesses physical and emotional needs of patients and implements appropriate nursing interventions, including confirmation of allergies, medications taken at home, dentures/contacts/glasses, pertinent medical conditions, past medical history, consent and operative side, and responsible party. Puts all patients on the monitor, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, height, and performs AccuCheck for blood sugar if applicable. Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. 1–3 years of Pre‑Op/PACU or ICU experience. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certification. Cooperative work attitude toward and with co‑employees, management, patients, visitors, and team members.
