Fireplace Service & Installation Technician – Deliver High-End Craftsmanship for Waconia Comfort

Job Overview:

• Company: Waconia Comfort
• Salary/Pay Rate: $22 to $30 per hour plus Performance Based Bonuses
• Location: Waconia, Burnsville and Metro Minneapolis
• Job/Employment Type: Full Time
• Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with some evenings and weekends as needed
• Project Scope: Residential Hearth, Fireplace, and Seasonal HVAC Service & Installation
• Mandatory Licences & Certifications: Valid Driver's License

The Opportunity:

You will play a vital role in delivering premium home comfort to residential clients by expertly installing and servicing diverse hearth systems. How You Will Make an Impact:

• Install and service premium gas, electric, and wood fireplaces according to strict manufacturer specifications and local codes.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical and low-voltage electrical issues independently to provide homeowners with immediate comfort solutions.
• Execute clean fireplace tear-outs and seamless venting installations while carefully protecting the client's residential property.
• Educate customers clearly on safe system operations, technical repair options, and preventative maintenance packages to build long-term trust.
• Collaborate flexibly with the HVAC department during seasonal transitions to ensure a steady, highly productive workflow year-round.
• Mentor entry-level technicians in field safety protocols, precision brazing, and advanced hearth installation techniques.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
• Proven field experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing gas, electric, and wood hearth appliances independently.
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate technical power tools and comfortably work from tall extension ladders.
• Physical capability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs on occasion for demanding appliance installations.
• Strong communication and customer service skills necessary to maintain high-end professional client relationships.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of related hearth, fireplace, or residential HVAC field experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• National Fireplace Institute (NFI) Certification or an equivalent industry credential.
• HVAC or Hearth Technical School Certificate.
