Job Summary Medical Laboratory Scientist II – Testing Personnel as defined by CLIA, responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of both waived and non‑waived test results. Performs only tests authorized by the laboratory manager and requiring a skill level commensurate with the individual's education, training or experience. Sign‑On Bonus Eligible candidates will receive a generous sign‑on bonus of $10,000. Essential Functions (Responsibilities) Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, reporting, and record maintenance. Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested consistently with patient samples. Adhere to quality control policies and document all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed. Follow the laboratory's corrective action policies whenever test systems deviate from acceptable performance levels. Identify problems affecting test performance or reporting and either correct them or promptly notify the appropriate supervisor or director. Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications (42 CFR 493.1425, 493.1495). Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or Laboratory Sciences. Experience in lieu of a degree is not accepted. Licenses and Credentials: ASCP Medical Technologist (preferred; ASCP-BOC preferred). Experience: 1‑2 years laboratory experience required. Skills & Abilities: Basic understanding of laboratory equipment operation, maintenance, repair, and analytic techniques. Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment. Strong attention to detail and adherence to written protocols. Effective communication with supervisors when issues are identified. Team member with excellent interpersonal skills and professional interaction with staff, physicians, and patients.
