One-Call (811) Operations & Utility Compliance Coordinator

Express Employment Professionals - Clinton

Job Description

Job Description

Own the flow of information that keeps projects moving

Join a fast-moving, people-first construction company in a newly created role with room to shape how it works. There’s no people management in this position—your focus is operational excellence across utility coordination, compliance timelines, and field asset tracking.

A day in this role
  • Start of day: Review new and open One Call (811) tickets, enter and update details, share completed tickets, and confirm positive responses with crews and inspectors so work can proceed safely.
  • Mid-morning: Check compliance calendars for DOT requirements, permits, certifications, and quarterly testing. Flag upcoming expirations, gather proof, and close out documentation before deadlines.
  • Midday: Track short-term site rentals and coordinate deliveries and pickups to avoid unnecessary charges.
  • Afternoon: Maintain precise inventories for gas monitors, GPS units, and other field gear—logging check-outs, returns, and condition.
  • Project wrap: Assemble site-specific files (SHEP, site plans, water sampling paperwork) and submit complete packages to company representatives and stakeholders.
  • As needed: Partner with third-party IT and vendors to resolve issues impacting field communications, GPS configuration, and virtual meetings.
  • Ongoing: Support ESG-related reporting tasks and keep bid-support inputs, job lists, and status trackers current.
What you’ll bring
  • 2+ years of administrative or logistics support for field operations, construction, or utilities.
  • Hands-on familiarity with One Call/811 workflows and either DOT compliance or similar regulatory coordination.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Comfort with spreadsheets and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Clear, timely phone and email communication with field teams and vendors.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Steady work history and interest in growing into a long-term role.
  • Discipline to keep job lists, bid-status tracking, and related documentation up to date.
Nice to have
  • Experience using asset management or equipment tracking tools.
  • Familiarity with SHEP and safety documentation.
