Position Overview

Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) to lead and improve its revenue cycle operations across multiple behavioral health programs and service lines.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, particularly in behavioral health, along with strong knowledge of Florida Medicaid, Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs), Medicare, commercial insurance, and the Netsmart electronic health record (EHR) system.

This leader will evaluate current billing and collection processes, identify revenue losses, improve operational efficiency, and develop strategic plans to strengthen financial performance as the organization continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the complete healthcare revenue cycle, including patient registration, insurance eligibility verification, charge capture, medical coding, billing, claims processing, denial management, accounts receivable (A/R), and collections.
• Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including clean-claim rates, denial rates, days in A/R, and collection rates, to identify financial gaps and improve revenue performance.
• Investigate denied and unpaid insurance claims, identify the root causes, and implement corrective action plans.
• Ensure accurate patient information, insurance verification, provider enrollment, billing documentation, and payment posting.
  Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least 7 years of progressive revenue cycle management experience, including significant behavioral health experience.
• At least 2 years of senior-level management experience.
• Experience with primary care, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), or community health centers.
• Experience managing complex, multi-program and multi-payer healthcare revenue cycle operations.
• Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and Florida Medicaid managed care organizations.
• Advanced expertise in claims processing, denial management, accounts receivable, collections, coding, and billing compliance.
• Experience with provider enrollment and payer credentialing processes.
• Strong analytical skills and experience developing KPI dashboards and financial reports.
• Experience improving EHR billing configurations, claims workflows, and system processes.
• Netsmart EHR experience required.
• Florida Medicaid and Florida Medicaid MCO experience required.
• Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and change-management skills.
