POSITION: GSRP Non-Certified Paraprofessional


LOCATION: P-CCS Preschool


HOURS: 16 hours per week

Monday-Thursday

9:00am - 1:00pm


JOB SUMMARY: Assist with providing high quality preschool education to students


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school graduate or equivalent
2. Experience working in an early childhood setting preferred
3. Ability to work in cooperative and collegial manner with GSRP Lead Teacher and Supervisor
4. Demonstrated ability to work with parents and children
5. Ability to maintain good rapport with staff/students
6. Knowledge of the Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Prekindergarten
7. Yearly CPR/AED and first aid certification required
8. Negative TB test required
9. Strong communication skills
10. Effective organizational skills
11. Regular and reliable attendance

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Complete professional development required by State Licensing
2. Support Lead Teacher with tasks throughout the school day
3. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and emergency situations (i.e. tornado drills, fire drills, etc.)
4. Engage in activities with children at their physical level
5. Help create an overall supportive, nurturing, and strength-based atmosphere
6. Assist with arrival and dismissal of children
7. Assist with and participate in family style meal service and clean up after food is served
8. Assist with the preparation and cleanup of room
9. Bending, lifting and overhead work may be required
10. Performs other duties as assigned

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.

The fingerprinting is conducted by a third party and is at the expense of the applicant. Cost for fingerprinting is approximately $70.00.
