Details Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 16:30-07:00) on a 36/48 schedule Rotating weekends and holidays required Floating required No on-call responsibilities Patient ratio of 1:7 Epic charting system experience required Requirements Active VA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS required ACLS, OCN, and PALS certifications preferred Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line management, and PICC line management Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE Experience with insulin protocols and IV medication administration Must commit to completing drug testing within 12-14 calendar days prior to start with no scheduling conflicts during that window Must be willing to repeat lab testing if required Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines Additional Information Provide direct patient care within the Med/Surg and Medical Surgical/Telemetry population, including orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurological, and renal cases Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties General orientation begins on Sundays and includes online computer-based learning (CBL) modules averaging 4-5 non-billable hours Must reside 100 miles or more from the hospital's service area, as local candidates are not accepted RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration First-time travelers are not considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P-749681.
