Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Technical Writer to support a network-focused program by driving end-to-end process documentation, standardization, and data consolidation efforts. This role goes beyond traditional documentation—serving as a process strategist responsible for organizing fragmented data, defining workflows, and enabling a centralized “single source of truth.” The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, analytical, and proactive, capable of working across engineering and program teams to document, validate, and operationalize scalable processes that are ultimately AI-ready and measurable. Key Responsibilities include:

Process Documentation & Standardization

-Inventory and document 30+ high-level network and operational processes, prioritizing top processes based on business impact

-Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including clear ownership, inputs/outputs, and step-by-step workflows

-Ensure every process is documented with who, what, when, where, and measurable outcomes

-Identify gaps where processes or SOPs do not exist and build documentation from scratch

Data Consolidation & Source of Truth

-Consolidate fragmented process data across tools into a centralized, unified documentation repository

-Validate and connect data across systems (e.g., Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Slack) to ensure consistency and accuracy

-Map where documentation, file transfers, and records live and standardize access points

-Enable traceability across processes, documentation, and data storage locations

Process Mapping & Workflow Optimization

-Translate complex workflows into clear process maps and decision trees

-Ensure programs and teams are aligned to and actively referencing standardized processes

-Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency using technology and data insights

Stakeholder Collaboration & Delivery

-Partner with network engineers, program leads, and SMEs to gather inputs and validate documentation

-Conduct interviews and working sessions to extract process knowledge and undocumented workflows

-Drive alignment on priorities, pilot programs, and process maturity levels

Training, Adoption & Governance

-Roll out standardized documentation and processes across teams

-Train stakeholders on new workflows and documentation standards

-Establish governance for ongoing updates, version control, and process ownership

Day-to-Day Responsibilities include:

-Gather and analyze existing documentation, templates, and workflows

-Conduct gap analysis to identify missing or incomplete processes

-Build documentation and process maps for prioritized initiatives

-Support roadmap prioritization with program leadership

-Facilitate stakeholder interviews and working sessions

-Publish finalized documentation and lead enablement/training sessions

Success Milestones

-First 30 Days

Build a comprehensive inventory of processes and documentation

Engage stakeholders to understand workflows and pain points

Define process maturity levels (high / medium / low)

Partner with leadership to create a prioritized roadmap

-Post first 30 days:

Execute documentation and standardization efforts across prioritized processes

Continuously interview, document, organize, and train

Deliver a centralized, scalable process framework that supports AI-readiness and data-driven insights

Skills and Requirements

-3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer within IT, networking, cloud, or engineering environments

-Hands-on experience with diagramming tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io) for process mapping

-Ability to drive efficiencies using the data processes identified

-Experience creating and maintaining documentation in Confluence/Jira, including structuring pages and content

-Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation for varied audiences -Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments

-Familiarity with Jira, GitHub, or other ticketing/version control systems

-Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls)

-Experience with automation and infrastructure tooling (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines)

-Draw.IO experience to create a decision matrixs

-GitHub experience
